ELECTION ORDER.
WHEREAS , the Board of Aldermen of The City of Wichita
Palle, Texas, deems it advisable to issue bonds of said City for the
purposes hereinafter mentioned;
THERri ORE, it is hereby ordered by the Board of Aldermen
of said City that an election be held on the 23rd day of June A.D.
1914, at which election the following proposition shall be submitted:
Shall the Board of Aldermen of The City of Wichita, Palls,
Texas , be authorized to issue bonds of said City in the sum of
Seven-Thousand, Five Hundred ( Y,500.00) Dollars, payable 40 years
after date, with option of redeeming same at any time after 10 years'
time] each bearing interest at the rate of 5 per centum per annu.m,
interest payable semi-annually, and to levy a tax sufficient to pay
the interest of said bonds and create a sinking fund sufficient to
redeem them at maturity for the purpose of building a public
building in said City, io wit: Afire Station, under the provisions
of the Charter of The City of Wichita Falls, Texas, adopted on the
4th day of December A.D. 1913.
Said election shall be held at the City Hall and at the
Wichita County Court House in The City of Wichita Falls , Texas,
and the following named persons are hereby appointed managers of
said election:
At the City Hall; J. B. Fitts, Presiding Judge; J. J.
Manley, Assistant Judge; and Jerome Stone and 10. H. Hooker, Clerks.
At the Court House there shall be H. J. Bachman, Presiding
Judge; 0. T. Gorsline, Assistant Judge; and T. E. Ragsdale and P. H.
Dennison, Clerks.
Said election shall be held under the provisions of the
General Election Laws of the State of Texas, and only qualified
voters, who are property tax payers of said City, shall be allowed to
vote, and all voters desiring th support the proposition to issue
bonds shall have printed on their balllbts the words: "For the is-
suance of Bonds" , and those opposing shall have printed on their
ballots the words: "Against the issuance of Bonds".
The manner of holding said election shall be governed
by the laws of the State of Texas regulating general elections.
A copy of this ordinance, signed by the Mayor of said
City, shall serve as a proper notice of said election, and the Mayor
is directed to cause notice of said election to be posted up at the
places designated for holding said election at least thirty days
prior to the date of said election, and to give at least thirty
days notice of said election by publication of said nothoe, duly
signed by the Mayor, in some daily newspaper published in The City
of Wichita Falls, Texas, at least once a week for three consecutive
weeks next preceding; such election.

7,500,00 worth of bonds for the purpose of Building a Fire Station

At a meeting of the Board of Aldermen of The City
of Wichita Falls, Texas held on the 25rd day of June AND. 1914, to
determine whether or no; the Board of Aldermen of The City of
Wichita Falls , Texas, be authorized to issue the bonds of said
City in the sum of Seven Thousand Five Hundred ($7,500.00)
Dollars, payable forty (40) years after date with option of
redeeming same at any time after ten (10) years' time, each bear-
ing interest at the rate of five per acentum-(5f) per annum, In-
terest payable semi-annually, and to levy a tax sufficient to pay
the interest of said bonds and create a sinking fund sufficient to
redeem them at maturity for the purpose of "Building a Public
Building-in said City to wit; A Fire Station" Under the provisions
of the garter of The City of Wichita Falls , Texas, adopted December

And it appearino that said election was in all respects
lawfully held , and said returns duly and legally made, and that
there were (fast at said election 186 votes, of which 168 were cast
"For the issuance of Bonds" and there were cast 18 votes "Against the
issuance of Bonds."
It is therefore ordered and d6clared that the
proposition to issue said bonds and. levy said tax was sustained by a
majority of the qualified property tax payers voting at said elec-
tion, and that the Board of Aldermen of the said City is authorized
to issue said bonds and levy said assessment and collect said tax,

There being; a necessity that the ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
ISSUANCE OF FIRE STATION BONDS for the purpose of building a PUBLIC

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE OF FIRE STATION BONDS.
An ordinance authorizing the issuance of bonds for the
purpose of building a public building in The City of Wichita Falls ,
Texas to wit: A fire station, under the provisions of The Charter of
The C ty of Wichita Falls, Texas, adopted December 4, 1913, and
provi ing for the levy and collection of a tax to pay the interest
and create a sinking fund for the red6mption of said bonds at maturity.
WHEREAS , at an election held for the purpose on the 23rd
day of dune 1914, a majority of the qualified voters, who are proper-
ty tax payers of The City of Wichita Falls , Texas , voting at said
election sustained the proposition to issue the bonds hereinafter
describea by a vot of 168 for the issuance of bonds to a vote of 18
against the issuance of bonds, THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE: BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICH ITA rALT S, TEXAS:
1. That the bonds of said 01ty to be called "THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS FIRE STATION BONDS" be issued under the provisions of
the Charter of The City of Wichita Falls, Texas, adopted December
the 4tho 1913 for the purpose of building a public building in The
City of Wiahi�a Falls , Texas, to wit : A Fire Station` ,
2. Said bonds shall be numbered consecutively from
One to Fifteen inclusive; shall be of the denomination 'of Five-
Hundred ( 500.b0) each, aggregating the total sum of Seven-
Thousand, Five-Hundred 070500.00) Dollars;
3. Said bonds shall be dated the 15th day of August
1914; shall become due and payable forty years from the date of
their issuance with option of redeeming same at any time after ten
years time from date of issuance;
4. Said bonds shall bear interest at the rate of
Five per centlma per annum, interest payable semi-annually;
5. The principal and interest shall be payable on
presentation and surrender of bond or coupon at New York City,
New York,,,,,a Austin, Texas.
6. Said bonds shall be signed by the Mayor A. H.
Britain, countersigned by the City C;erk, tip. A. McCarty, sealed with
the seal of the City and registered ty the City Treasurer, and shall
be officially approved by the Attorney General of Texas;
7. The fac_.Simile signatures of the Mayor, A. H.
Britain, and the City C+erk, W, A. McCariJry may be lithographed
on the coupons;
8. It is further ordained by the hoard of Aldermen of
The City of Wichita Falls , Texas, that to pay the interest on said
bonds and create a sinking fund sufficient to pay off and discharge
them at maturity, a tax of One cent on each $100,00 valuation of
all taxable property in said The City of Wichita Falls , Texan, shall
be annually levied on said property, and annually assessed and
collected until said bonds and interest are paid, and said tax is
here, how levied for the current year , and for each succeeding year
and the same shall be assessed
while said bonds are outstanding
and collected for the current year and aUually hereafter and applied
to the purposes named.

9. It is also ordained that the Mayor A. H.
Britain be authorized to take and have charge of sat d bonds
pending their investigation by the Attorney General, and upon
their approval and registeration shall have authority to negotiate
#heir sale and receive for the City the proceeds thereof.

OF BOND AND FIXING THE; PLACE OF PAYMENT OF THE SEVEN THOUSAND AND

BE IT ORDAINED By the Board of Aldermen of
The City of Wichita Falls, Texas:
That the Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($7,500.00)
The C ty of Wichita Falls Fare Station Bonds, authorized by the
elect on held prune 23rd 19149 and ordinance number 205, when issued
shall be payable at the Hanover National Bank, New York City,
Now York or at the Office of the Treasurer of the State of Texas,
and shall be in substantially the following form, to wit;

THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS. IN THE COUNTY OF WICHITA,
a munioipal corporation, duly incorporated under the laws of the
State of Texas , for value received, hereby promises to pay to the
bearer on August 15, 19%4 the sum o:' FIVE HUNDRJM DOLLARS
in lawful money of the United States of America, together with
interest thereon from date hereof at the rate of five (5) per centum
per annum, payable semi-annually on the l5th day of February and on
the 15th day of August of each year upon presentation and surrender
of thehattaohed interest doupons as they severally become due. Both
principal and interest payable at Hanover National Bank of New
York City, New York, or at the Office of the Troanur.er of the State
of Texas,
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS. hereby reserves the right to
redeem th$e bond before maturity at any time after August 15th 1924,
by paying principal and accrued interest, and in case this bond shall
be called in for redemption before maturity, notice thereof in
writing shall be given to the holders blereof by the City Clerk
at least thirty days before the date fixed for dedemption, and should
this bond not be presented for redemption the same shall cease to
bear. interest from tnd after said date so fixed for redemption.
THIS BOND is one of a series of Fifteen (15) bonds,
numbered consecutively from One (1) to Fifteen (15) , inclusive,
of the denomination of FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($5OOoOO) each, ag-
reg*ting the sum of Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
$7,600.00) issued for the purpose 6f building a public building in
The City of Wichita Falls Texas, to wit , A Fire Station, as au-
thorized and provided by he C after of The City of Wichita Falls,
Texas, adopted Decemj�er 4th 19 3, and the General Laws of the
State of Texas, and inpursnance of an ordinance passed by the Board
of Aldermen of The City of Wichita Falls , Texas, on the l5th day of
August 1914.
THE DATE OF THIS BOND in conformity with the above
mentioned ordinance is August 15th 1914, and it is hereby certified
and recited- that all acts, conditions and things required to be done
pursuant to and in the issuance of this bond have been properly
done , happened and performed in regular and due form as required
by law, and that the total indebtedness of said Cty, including
this bond, does not exceed any constitutional or itatutory limita-
tion.
IN TEES TIMONY WHEREOF. The City of Wichita Falls ,
Wichita County, Texas , has caused the Corrorate .Seal of the said
