Ord 545 10/27/1924 N ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE LEVYING ASSESSING AND FIXING THE RATE OF TAXATION IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, FOR THE YEAR A. D.192.' AND ALSO LEVYING AN OCCUPATION TAX ON ALL OCCUPATIONS TAXABLE UNDM THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS, AND THE CHARTER AND O1M)INANCES OF SAID CITY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERIIFN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS. SECTION I. There shall be levied, assessed and co11- ected for the year A. D. 192� , an3t ad valorem tax of ( �y ) cents on eac` E One Hundred (100.00) D &jojt�he assessed value of all property within the limts of the City of Wichita .Falls, Texas, subject to taxation under the charter of said City. Said tax shall be levied and collected for the current expen- ses and for general improvements of the Oity and its property to be known as the General Fund. There shall be levied, assessed and collected for the year A. There shall be levied, assessed and collected from every person, firm, corp occuoration, company or ass- ociation ion taxable of persons following or pursuing any p under the laws of the State of Texas, and the Charter and Ordinances of the City of ';'dichita :galls, one half of the mount of tax that or association is charged said person firm, corporation, company of persons under the laws of the State of Texas for co lo�ratonr pursuing said occupation; and that any person, fi�p, corpora , company or association of persons who shall follow or pursue the any occupation calling or profession or do any act provision of said State laws or who shall represent as agent, any person, firm, corporation, company or association of persons fol tall the owing any occupation so taxed, without first having p aid required by law, shall upon 0011viction in the Corporation Court or in any Court having jurisdiction thereof be fined in any sum not less then the tax due nor more than double said amount, and that any one prosecuted for the violation of� said law tsoh�l hav the e.x the right to have his case dismissed upon the paym and the accrued cost.
