Ord 1832 4/27/1959ORDINANCE NO.� AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS., TEXAS, BY ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS SOUTHWEST OF THE PRESENT TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, IN WICHITA COUNTY, TEXAS, DESIGNATED AS SECTION A -5 UNIVERSITY PARK AND ADJACENT' PARK PROPERTY; ( DENNIS TRACT); and DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the following tract of land located in Wichita County, Texas, be and the same is hereby ordered to be annexed and to be included within the corporate limits of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and that the corporate limits be ex- tended so as to include Section`A -5 University Park, and adjacent park property in Wichita County, Texas, the same being more partic- ularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a point 401 West and 351 South of the Northeast corner of Block twenty -one (21), League One (1), Denton County School Land; said point being the Southwest corner of Fairway Boulevard and Montrose Avenue; THENCE North 890 431 West SZ'1 along the 'gotth right -of -way of Montrose Avenue a distance of approximately 11701 to a point; THENCE in a Southerly direction and at right angles to Montrose Avenue a distance of approximately 4051 to a point in the West line of University Park, Section A -5; Thence South 700 141 East 263.61; THENCE South 890 551 East 3811 to a point in the West right -of -way line of Mistletoe Drive; THENCE in a Southerly direction, following a curve to the right a distancS of 262.5 feet to a point; THENCE South 380 231 East approximately 2121; THENCE South 74 201 East 356.2 feet to a point in the West right -of -way line of Fairway Boulevard; THENCE North 000 031 East 997.61 to the place of beginning; and containing approximately 17.2 acres of land. SECTION Z. In conformity with Section 3 -A of the Amended Charte�of the Ci y of Wichita Falls,Texas, this ordinance is on they _ day of 1�k "', 1959, introduced and the City Clerk is directe- to publish said ordinance one time in a news= paper`of general circulation published in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and seven days thereafter this ordinance may be finally acted upon. SECTION 3. The fact that many people will want to reside in the territory described in this ordinance and will be unable to take advantage of city conveniences,fire and po- lice protection, sanitary and health measures, creates an emergency and it is hereby declared that the foregoing ordinance is an emer- gency measure on the grounds of urgent public need for the protec- tion of the general welfare,and this ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon its passage and approval.
