ORDINANCE WAIVING CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF
SECTION 22-1, PARAGRAPH (a) OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES, AND ORDINANCE NO. 3363 FOR
SLOW-PITCH SOFTBALL INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT
FOR THE BENEFIT OF SHANE LANDRY.
WHEREAS, Golden Distributing Company and Lee Dawson
desire to sponsor a slow-pitch softball invitational
tournament at Scotland Park and Hamilton Park ballfields
on May 9, 10 and 11, 1980, for the benefit of Shane Landry,
a Rider High School student who was seriously injured last
fall during a football game; and,
WHEREAS, Golden Distributing Company will donate
$400 for trophys and advertising streamers, and they
further proposed to sell programs ads, T-shirts, food,
beer and other beverages, and other related products; and,
WHEREAS, all proceeds will go for the benefit of
Shane Landry.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Notwithstanding the provisions contained in Section 22-1,
Paragraph (a) and Ordinance No. 3363 , it shall be lawful
for Golden Distributing Company and Lee Dawson, or their
concessionaire, to obtain a Temporary License under the
Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code, which shall authorize the
holder thereof to sell beer only for consumption on the
premises constituting the Scotland Park and Hamilton Park
ballfields in or from any lawful container to the ultimate
consumer, which Temporary License shall be good only during
said invitational tournament on May 9, 10 and 11, 1980.
