Ord 3657 5/6/1980 ORDINANCE NO. ��J-17 ORDINANCE EXTENDING STATE OF DISASTER EMERGENCY FOR SEVEN DAYS. WHEREAS, the state of emergency declared by Ordinance No. 3654 automatically terminates on May 7, 1980, by virtue of Article 5890 (e) , Revised Civil Statutes of Texas; and, WHEREAS, the aftermath of the tornado still creates an emergency. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. Prior approval having been given by the Governor, the state of disaster emergency in the City of Wichita Falls is hereby extended for a period of seven days, ending May 14, 1980, such extension being reasonably necessary to protect the health, life and property of- the City and its inhabitants. SECTION 2. Because of the destruction of property and disruption of the competitive market cause by the April 10 tornado, this ordinance is declared to be an emergency ordinance, and shall become effective upon its passage.
