ORDINANCE CLOSING HEARING AND FINDING CERTAIN BUILDINGS
AND/OR STRUCTURES TO BE DANGEROUS; COMMANDING PROPERTY
OWNERS TO REPAIR, VACATE, OF DEMOLISH SAID BUILDING AND/OR
STRUCTURES WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS OF THE DATE OF THIS
ORDINANCE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the building Inspector of the City of Wichita Falls,
acting under the provisions of Article III, of Chapter 7, of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls, notified in writing by certified
mail the following list of property owners of the property shown that
the building or buildings on the premises had been classified as a
dangerous building and that certain corrections were needed to be
made or the building demolished.

• WHEREAS, -uch property owners above have not complied with the
directive of the Building Inspector within the sixty days allowed in said
Article III; and,
WHEREAS, the above listed property owners have been notified by
certified mail by the Building Inspector of the time and date of Public Hearing
for the above named property owners to appear before the Board of Aldermen to
show cause why such building or structure should not be repaired, vacated, or
demolished in accordance with the State of Particulars set forth in the Building
Inspector`s notice; and said Public Hearing was had and held at the time and
place fixed therefore, to-wit, on the 1st day of July 1980, .at 8:30 A.M.
in the Council Chambers in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and at such Public
Hearing the following protests and objections were made to-wit:

and said hearing was continued until all desiring to be heard were gii7en full
and fair opportunity to be heard and the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita
Falls having fully considered all property matters, is of the opinion that the
said hearing should be closed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
Said hearing be and the same is hereby closed, and the said protests
and objections, and any and all other protest objections whether enumerated or
not, be and the same are hereby, overruled.
From the evidence presented in the aforementioned Public Hearing
by Property owners appearing and the Building Inspector of the City of Wichita
Falls, the building and/or structure at the location listed above with the corres-
ponding property owner is found to be a dangerous building as defined in said
Article III and the property owners listed or any other person having an interest
in said building as shown by the tax records of the City of Wichita Falls, are
hereby commanded to repair, vacate, or demolish the building and/ o rstructure in
accordance with the State of Particulars set forth in the Building Inspector's
notice. The property owner listed or any other person having an interest in said
building as shown by the tax records of the City of Wichita Falls is further
commanded to repair, vacate or demolish in accordance with the State of Particulars
set forth in the Building Inspector's notice within thirty (30) days from the
date of this ordinance.
If, within 30 days from the date of this ordinance, any such building
has not been so repaired or demolished, it shall be demolished or removed at the
expence of the City by the City by the City or its contractor, and the net cost
for demolition or removal shall be charged to the owners of the property and
assessed on the land on which the building stood.
The fact that the repair, vacation and/or demolition of dangerous build-
ings is being delayed pending the taking effect of this ordinance creates
an emergency for the immediate preservation of the public business place, pro
-perty, health, safety and general welfare of the public which requires that
this ordinance shall become effective from and after the date of its passage and
is accordingly so ordained.
