Ord 8-85 1/15/1985 ORDINANCE NO. I Sr, AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING, AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF A TWENTY (20) FOOT WIDE, NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY LOCATED BETWEEN LOTS 9 AND 10, BLOCK 14, SIKES ESTATES, SECTION F-1, WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS WHEREAS, the Planning Board has recommended that a portion of a twenty (20) foot wide, north-south alley located between Lots 9 and 10, Block 14, Sikes Estates, Section F-1, be closed subject to final platting; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas deems it advisable and in the public interest to close, vacate, and abandon the portion of the alley hereafter described. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. A portion of a 20 foot wide alley located between Lots 9 and 10, Block 14, Sikes Estates, Section F-1, an addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, said portion of the alley being specifically described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point lying in the west right-of-way line of Dickens Street, said point being the northeast corner of said Lot 10, Block 14, Sikes Estates, Section F-1, and also being the southeast corner and place of beginning of this description; THENCE along the north line of said Lot 10, Block 14, and also the south line of said 20-foot alley, North 51° 41' West 77.00 feet to a point being the northwest corner of said Lot 10, Block 14, and also being the southwest corner of this tract; THENCE North 50° 58' East 20.49 feet to a point being the southwest corner of said Lot 9, Block 14, and also being the northwest corner of this tract; THENCE along the south line of said Lot 9, Block 14, and along the north line of said 20-foot alley, South 51° 41' East 72.18 feet to a point lying in a curve in said west right-of-way line of Dickens Street, said point being the southeast corner of said Lot 9, Block 14, and also being the northeast corner of this tract; THENCE along said west right-of-way line of Dickens Street, and along a 32.74 degree curve to the right, having a radius of 175.00 feet, and a central angle of 03 16' 35.7", a total distance of 10.01 feet to a point of tangency; -2- THENCE continuing along said west right-of-way line of Dickens Street, South 38° 19' West 10.00 feet to the place of beginning and containing 1494 square feet, or 0.03 acre of land, more or less; be and the same is closed, vacated, and abandoned. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective upon filing with the Wichita County Clerk, a final plat of Lot 9A, Block 14, Sikes Estates Subdivision, Section F-1, and the construction and dedication of the alternate alley shown on said plat, and the placement of the fence at least 10 feet away from the property line on either side of the north corner of ro osed Lot 9A.
