Ord 27-85 3/5/1985 ORDINANCE NO. 1/4.-ff AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING, AND ABANDONING A 12.5 FOOT WIDE PORTION OF SULLIVAN STREET ADJACENT TO LOTS 9, 10, & B, BLOCK 20, BATESON SECOND ADDITION, WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS WHEREAS, the Planning Board has recommended that a 12.5 foot wide portion of Sullivan Street adjacent to Lots 9, 10, & B, Block 20, Bateson Second Addition be closed subject to retention of a utility easement; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas deems it advisable and in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the portion of the street hereafter described. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The 12.5 foot wide portion of Sullivan Street adjacent to Lots 9, 10, and B, Block 20, Bateson Second Addition, Wichita Falls, Texas, being more specifically described as follows: BEGINNING at the southwest corner of Lot 10, Block- 20, Bateson Second Addition; THENCE East, 122.07 feet to the southeast corner of Lot B, Block 20, Bateson Second Addition, said point also being the intersection of the north right-of-way of Sullivan Street and the west right-of-way of Rosewood Avenue; THENCE S 00° 22' 18" E, 12.5 feet to a point for corner; THENCE West, 122.07 feet to a point for corner; THENCE N 00° 10' 00" W, 12.5 feet to the place of beginning; be and the same is hereby closed, vacated, and abandoned. SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls hereby reserves on the entire area described in Section 1, a utility easement for the purpose of laying and maintaining all kind and character of utility lines including water, gas, elec- tric, telephone, television cables, power lines, and sanitary and storm sewers.
