Ord 42-85 5/7/1985 1 ORDINANCE NO. /,0_,4y ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION (102 . 5) OF ORDINANCE NO. 2733 , THE PLUMBING CODE, TO CHANGE THE NUMBER AND COMPOSITION OF THE PLUMBING ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT : Subsection (102 . 5) , Plumbing Advisory Board, is hereby amended to read as follows: " (102 . 5) Plumbing Advisory Board. There is hereby created a board of advisors for the City of Wichita Falls, which shall be known as the Plumbing Advisory Board. The Plumbing Advisory Board shall consist of nine (9) members who shall be appointed by the City Council, and shall serve a term of two (2) years each, and until their successors are appointed. One (1) member of said board shall be a licensed mechanical engineer, one (1) member of said board shall be a member of the Lone Star Gas Company, three (3) members of said board shall be licensed plumbers, two of whom must be licensed master plumbers, P P four (4) members of said board shall be citizens chosen from the city at large. The secretary of said board shall be the plumbing inspector for the City of Wichita Falls , Texas, but he shall have no vote. All members of said board shall be residents of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and shall serve without pay. On the first board appointed hereafter, five (5) members shall be appointed to serve (1) year terms, and three (3) members shall be appointed to serve two (2) year terms. Thereafter, each member shall be appointed to serve two (2) years. Terms shall expire on December 31. The Plumbing Advisory Board shall have authority to grant modifications or variances to the plumbing code of the City of Wichita Falls for any specific case. In varying the applications of any provision of the plumbing code or in modifying an order of the plumbing inspector, not less than five (5) affirmative votes shall be required . Any such decision shall be in writing and shall specify in what manner such variation or modification shall be made and the conditions upon which it shall be made and the reasons thereof , one of which must be to prevent undue hardships. a !. The Plumbing Advisory Board shall promulgate its own rules of procedure and shall meet at such times as it may set, and shall be subject to called meetings by either the secretary of said board or the chairman of said board.
