ORDINANCE GRANTING WAIVER OF SECTION 5-72 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ALLOW RANDALL GARTON TO
KEEP A BOBCAT AS A PET FOR SIXTY ( 60 ) DAYS.
WHEREAS, Randall Garton and his family have moved to Wichita
Falls from Oklahoma for a temporary period, and they own as a
pet a bobcat which they raised from a kitten; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Garton and his family will live in Wichita
Falls only 60 more days, and they desire to keep such bobcat
as a pet in Wichita Falls during this temporary period; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the circumstances
involved in this situation are exceptional, and a waiver of Section
5-72 , which prohibits any person from keeping or permitting
to be kept any wild animal as a pet in the City, should be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 5-72 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby waived
to allow Mr. Randall Garton and his family to keep such bobcat
as a pet for a period of 60 days from this date; during this
period, this bobcat shall be kept inside the Garton' s residence
or automobile, and such bobcat shall not be taken into the presence
of anyone other than the members of Randall Garton ' s family.
