Ord 165-85 12/17/1985 ORDINANCE NO. 4‹,4,i'---4;/- AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING, AND ABANDONING THAT PORTION OF 16TH STREET BETWEEN TRAVIS AND LAMAR STREETS, WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND RETAINING A UTILITY EASEMENT WHEREAS, the Planning Board has recommended the closure of that portion of 16th Street, between Travis and Lamar Streets, subject to the retention of a utility easement; and, WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable and in the public interest to close said portion of 16th Street hereafter described. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. That portion of 16th Street lying between Travis and Lamar Streets, being more specifically described as follows : BEGINNING at a i inch iron rod in the east right-of-way line of Travis Street, said i inch iron rod being the southwest corner of said Block 226, Original Townsite, for the most westerly north- west corner and place of beginning of this description; THENCE North 56° 03' 44" East 325.68 feet to an "X" in concrete in the west right-of-way line of Lamar Street, a dedicated street, for the most easterly northeast corner of this tract; THENCE South 22° 32' 00" East 105.21 feet to a z inch iron rod for the southeast corner of this tract; THENCE North 71° 43' 00" West 31.55 feet to a z inch iron rod for an interior corner of this tract; THENCE South 55° 42' 00" West 285.47 feet to a z inch iron rod in the east right-of-way line of said Travis Street for the northwest corner of said Block 2 and the southwest corner of this tract; THENCE North 34° 00' 00" West 80.00 feet along said west right-of-way of Travis Street to the place of beginning and containing 0.58 acres, more or less; be and the same is hereby closed, vacated, and abandoned. SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls hereby reserves on the portion of the street to be closed in Section 1, a utility easement for the purposes of main- taining, replacing, and enhancing the existing public and private utility lines shown on the "Utility Exhibit" to the final plat of Lot 1-A, Block 226, Original Townsite, Wichita Falls, Texas. This easement is more specifically described as follows: -2- 1 BEGINNING at a point on the east right-of-way line of Travis Street, said point being the northwest corner of Lot 1-A, Block 2, I. Jalonick Addition; THENCE North 34° 00' West, 20 feet along the east right-of-way line of Travis Street to a point for corner; THENCE North 55° 42' East, 150.34 feet to a point for corner; THENCE North 34° 00' West, 29.05 feet to a point for corner; THENCE South 56° 03' 44" West, 150.34 feet to a point on the east right-of-way line of Travis Street for corner; THENCE North 34° 00' West, 30 feet along the east right-of-way line of Travis Street to a point for corner; THENCE North 56° 03' 44" East, 325.68 feet to a point on the west right-of-way line of Lamar Street for corner; THENCE South 22° 32' East, 30.60 feet along the west right-of-way line of Lamar Street for corner; THENCE South 56° 03' 44" West, 144.26 feet to a point for corner; THENCE South 34° 00' East, 28.89 feet to a point for corner; THENCE North 55° 42' East, 138.58' to a point on the west right-of-way line of Lamar Street for corner; THENCE South 22° 32' East, 20.43 feet along the west right-of-way line of Lamar Street for corner; THENCE South 55° 42' West, 309.86' to the place of beginning. SECTION 3. The street closure described in Section 1 shall become effective upon the filing of a final plat of Lot 1-A, Block 226, Original Townsite with the Wichita County Clerk within one (1) year from the date of passage of this ordinance.
