Information Services
Interviews are currently being conducted to fill the position of Librarian I - Adult Information Services for the
library. Six candidates were scheduled for interviews, but two declined to interview citing reasons such as
accepting another position and lack of funds to move at this time. The Leads committee will finish interviews on
November 15th and expect to have a decision by the end of the week.
Other
Downtown Trick or Treat: On Oct. 31, Trick-or-Treaters were given maps showing all 30 participating locations
down town and they collected stamps at each location. These "passports" were turned in at the last location at
the end of the night for chances at prizes. We donated 3 WFPL messenger bags filled with books, a reading
blanket, a book light, and a diffuser water bottle. Each was themed: youth, teen, adult. We had 898 trick-or-
treaters who stopped for candy at both the service and youth desks. We also gave out assorted goodies left
over from previous events and programs like pencils, stickers, and activity books.
The Programming Committee met on Thursday, November 2nd and finalized Decem ber events. Focus of the
month will be "A Season of Giving" -- families who attend will learn about the needs of area nonprofits and be
given the opportunity to create a simple craft to donate to their cause.
