RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A REFUSE
TRUCK CAB & CHASSIS THROUGH THE HOUSTON-GALVESTON
AREA COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS COOPERATIVE PURCHASING
PROGRAM FROM CHASTANG'S BAYOU CITY FORD IN THE AMOUNT
OF $115,438.00; AND FROM HEIL OF TEXAS FOR THE AUTOMATED
CURBSIDE COLLECTION BODY IN THE AMOUNT OF $98,027.68 AND
MAKING A BUDGETARY APPROPRIATION IN THE SANITATION FUND
FOR THIS PURCHASE; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, local governments are authorized by Chapter 791, et seq.,
The Interlocal Cooperation Act of the Government Code, to agree with other local
governments to form purchasing cooperatives; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls has passed a
resolution approving the participation in such cooperative agreements; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to purchase one (1) refuse truck cab
& chassis and the service body for this unit, and
WHEREAS, it is in the City's best interest to purchase through the H-GAC
Purchasing Cooperative, and
WHEREAS, the funding needed for this purchase was not anticipated
when the 2006-07 budget was adopted, and
WHEREAS, reserve funds are available in the Sanitation Fund for this
purchase.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Authorization is granted to purchase one (1) cab & chassis
from Chastang's Bayou City Ford in the amount of $115,438.00; and one (1)
automated curbside collection body from Heil of Texas in the amount of
$98,027.68.
SECTION 2. A budgetary appropriation of $213,466.00 in the Sanitation
Fund is hereby approved for this purchase.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting
at which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
