Ordinance Appropriating $4,000 To The Special Revenue Fund For
Additional Grant Revenue From The Texas Comptroller Of Public
Accounts Tobacco Enforcement Grant For Fiscal Year 2012 And
Authorizing The City Manager To Execute All Documents Necessary
To Accept Said Funds
WHEREAS, the Texas Comptroller's Office, in partnership with the Wichita Falls
Police Department, wishes to reduce the extent to which cigarettes and tobacco
products are sold or distributed to persons younger than 18 years of age;
WHEREAS, the City has been awarded a grant in the amount of $4,000.00 for
Tobacco Compliance by the Texas State Comptroller of Public Accounts for fiscal year
2012 beginning September 1, 2012; and
WHEREAS, said funds will be used to support tobacco enforcement and retailer
and judicial education pursuant to Subchapters H and N of Chapter 161 of the Texas
Health and Safety Code, and to report grant - related activities to the Comptroller's
Office.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS TEXAS, THAT:
The sum of $4,000.00 is hereby appropriated in the Special Revenue Fund for
the purpose of tobacco compliance as authorized in the aforementioned grant from the
Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, and the City Manager is authorized to execute
all documents to accept said funds on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls.
