RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, AWARDING GRANTS FROM THE HOTEL/MOTEL FUND FOR ARTS
AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION PURPOSES TO TWELVE LOCAL
ORGANIZATIONS; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, it is desirable to increase tourism to Wichita Falls that will enrich the local
economy; and
WHEREAS, the use of Hotel/Motel Funds for grants to local organizations for art and
historic preservation activities will attract tourists and improve the quality of life for all citizens;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously appropriated $90,000 from the Hotel/Motel
Fund in the current budget for art and historic preservation grants.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Grants are hereby awarded to the attached list of local organizations for art
and historic preservation activities that will increase tourism to Wichita Falls and improve the
quality of life for all citizens.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this
resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
