ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES AT
CHAPTER 14, ARTICLE IV, SECTION 14-322 TO ADD ONE POSITION
TO THE ANIMAL SHELTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, The animal shelter advisory committee has been composed of five
members since 2003; and
WHEREAS, there is a desire to continue to have a five member committee,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Chapter 14, Article IV of the Code of Ordinances is hereby
amended as shown. The strike-through text shall be deleted and the underlined text
shall be added. I
Article IV Animal Control
Division 4. Animal Shelter Advisory Committee
Sec. 14-322. Representation.
The animal shelter advisory committee shall be composed of #e�five persons with the �
following qualifications: one veterinarian; one animal welfare organization
representative; one city official, designated as the Local Rabies Control Authority of
Wichita Falls (LRCA), as mandated by the Texas Health and Safety Code section
826.017,-;,-� one person whose duties include the daily operation of an animal shelter I
and one citizen representinq the qeneral public.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
