ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, DESIGNATING THE HOLT HOTEL BUILDING AT 600
$TH STREET AS A WICHITA FALLS LANDMARK; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Landmark Commission of the City of Wichita Falls has
recommended that the building located at 600 8 Street, Wichita Falls, Texas, be
designated as a local landmark; and
WHEREAS, the Landmark Commission has deemed that this property is
especially worthy of protection, preservation, and recognition based on historical and
architectural significance
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Chapter 62, Article I, Section 62-5. Designated landmarks and
districts, Code of Ordinances, Wichita Falls, Texas, is hereby amended to include the
following:
"(28) The Holt Hotel Building, located at 600 8 Street, Wichita Falls, Texas,
further known as Lot 7-A, Block 163, Original Townsite, is hereby designated as a
Wichita Falls Landmark."
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
