ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, APPROPRIATING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF
$200,000 FROM THE OFFICE OF ECONOMIC ADJUSTMENT OF THE
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE FOR THE PURPOSE OF
CONSULTANT SERVICES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A DEFENSE
DIVERSIFICATION PLAN; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the federal government has announced a reduction of employment
to be effective at Sheppard Air Force Base; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is eligible for funding assistance to prepare
a plan for diversification of the economy and would like to do so; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Economic Adjustment of the U. S. department of
Defense has awarded funds to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . Funds in the amount of $200,000.00 are hereby appropriated for
purposes of development of a Defense Diversification Plan. Such funding shall be
matched by previously appropriated General Funds in the amount of $22,222.00
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
