ORDINANCE NO. S�' O�
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, CLOSING, ABANDONING, AND VACATING A
PORTION OF BELL STREET BETWEEN AVENUE I AND AVENUE H
CONTAINING APPROXIMATELY 19,200 SQUARE FEET AS INDICATED
IN THE ATfACHED EXHIBIT "A"; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT
THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, Wichita Falls Independent School District has requested to close,
abandon, and vacate a portion of Bell Street located between Avenue H and Avenue I
as indicated in Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, all affected utility companies and City departments have reviewed
this request and have recommended approval of this closure; and
WHEREAS, The City Council of Wichita Falls, Texas deems it advisable and in
the best public interest to close, vacate, and abandon that portion of the street as herein
indicated in Exhibit "A".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That the approximately 19,200 square foot of Bell Street located
befinreen Avenue H and Avenue I, adjacent to Blocks 73A and 74A within the Highland
Addition, an addition to the City of Wichita Falls, is hereby closed, abandoned and
vacated. Said street is shown as indicated on the attached Exhibit "A" map and
incorporated in this ordinance.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the necessary
legal documents for the sale of this property, upon receipt of consideration from the
Wichita Falls Independent School District in an amount equal to the fair market value of
the properties.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
