Resolution No. _113-2017__
Resolution authorizing the City Manager to make application to the
Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, Rifle Resistant
Body Armor Grant Program, Grant Number 3479701, in the amount of
$21,055.00
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has been notified that it is eligible for
$21,055.00 from the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, Rifle Resistant
Body Armor Grant Program; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls City Council finds it in the best interest of the
citizens of Wichita Falls, that the Rifle Resistant Body Armor Grant Program be
operated for FY 2018; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls City Council agrees that in the event of loss or
misuse of the Office of Governor Funds, the Wichita Falls City Council ass ures that the
funds will be returned to the Office of the Governor in full ; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls City Council designates Darron Leiker, City
Manager, as the grantee’s authorized official. The authorized official is given the power
to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant
agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for the Rifle Resistant Body
Armor Grant Program (Grant Number: 3479701) through the Office of the Governor, for
funds in the amount of $21,055.00.
