Resolution granting a petition for annexation for approximately 12.77
acres of land (Trophy Park, Section 4 residential subdivision) out of
Blocks 12 & 13, League 2, Denton County School Land, Abstract No.
57, located at 5018 and 5030 Gregg Road under authority of Texas
Local Government Code Section 43.028 – authority of municipalities
to annex sparsely occupied area on petition of area landowners
WHEREAS, the owner of 12.77 acres of land west of Gregg Road, consisting of
Trophy Park Subdivision, Section 4 ha s submitted a petition to annex said land into the
city limits of Wichita Falls, and arguments for and against said petition were heard on
this day; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that all statutory prerequisites for voluntary
annexation have been met, and the land is : (1) one-half mile or less in width; (2)
contiguous to the City of Wichita Falls; and (3) vacant or the residence of fewer than
three qualified voters; and ,
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the petition for annexation and has
determined it to be beneficial for inclusion within the City’s limits for potential long -term
growth and future residential development.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The attached Attachment ‘A’ - Petition Requesting Annexation By Area Land
Owner is granted in accordance with Texas Local Government Code § 43.028.
