Mrs. Herzog also stated that it makes it hard for the familiesg

placing the pictures there. Dr. Wade stated they also don't recognized the three year rabies vaccine the
only recognized the one year. Mrs. Kreidler asked that they have their own rabies authority. Ms. Davis
replied yes. Ms. Mitchell stated that they don't have their own quarantine facility as well. Councillor
Smith stated that when the county builds the new jail he would like for them to build a new shelter with
it. Ms. Mitchell stated that animal services still gets calls out in the county recently just not as many.
Mrs. Herzog stated that she didn't know that animal control could go out into the county. Ms. Mitchell
replied that they could if the sheriff's department requests them because they are charged for the calls.
Councillor Smith asked Mrs. Herzog about how many animals that they have sent to New York.
Mrs. Herzog replied they have sent seven hundred eighty-three animals to New York.
Ms. Mitchell advised the committee that the Pets for Vets program was approved by city council and
animal services had a few adoptions with that program. She also stated the for those who didn't know
about the program it was waving adoption fees for military veterans Ms. Mitchell also stated that the
mutt for makeover contest was Friday and Saturday night September 16 & 17`" at six o'clock at the
Texas Oklahoma State Fair. Councillor Smith stated that he would like the next meeting from the
Animal Services Advisory Committee in November to be a more strategic type planning meeting. Ms.
Mitchell asked what date would be a good day to set the next meeting and the date was set.

Ms. Mitchell advised that the next ASAC meeting is set for Friday November 4th, 2016 at 12:00 p.m.
Ms. Davis made the motion to adjourn. Mrs. Herzog seconded the motion to adjourn. Motion carried
and all were in favor.
