Resolution authorizing the sale of the former Fire Station #8 located at
4415 Miller Road
WHEREAS, On February 17, 2015 the City Council passed Ordinance #09-2015
to authorize a General Election on May 9, 2015 for a proposition to sell surplus “park”
property located in Wood Memorial Park. Further, the proposition passed
WHEREAS, the sale of this property will allow for economic development, and
reduce the City’s real property inventory and maintenance requirements; and,
WHEREAS, the purchase price offered exceeds the “fair market appraisal” and the
proposed use is permitted as the property is currently zoned; and,
WHEREAS, it is determined to be in the best interest of the public to return this
City-owned property to private ownership and put it back on the tax roll.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City-owned property located at 4115 Miller Road may be sold to Robert and
Angie Forrester for the offer of $165,000.00 , and the City Manager is authorized to
execute the deed to such property in such form as is approved by the City Attorney.
