ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING CERTIFICATION PAY FOR
QUALIFYING MEMBERS OF THE WICHITA FALLS POLICE AND FIRE
DEPARTMENTS; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING
AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE
PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, having qualified and trained members of the Wichita Falls Fire and
Police Departments is a valuable asset to the citizens of the City of Wichita Falls; and,
WHEREAS S@Ct1011 143.044 Of th@ TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE aIIOWS a
municipal governing body to authorize certification pay to police officers and firefighters
who meet the requirements for certification as established by the Texas Commission on
Fire Protection and the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and
Education.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Certification pay, as authorized by Section 143.044 of the TExas
Loca� GOVERNMENT CODE is authorized in the following amounts for the following
positions:
Police Certification Pay
Intermediate $80 month
Advanced $125 month
Master $150 per month
Certifying Agency: Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer
Standards and Education
Fire Marshal Certification Pay
Intermediate $80 month
Advanced $125 month
Master $150 per month
Certifying Agency: Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer
Standards and Education

Intermediate $80 month
Advanced $125 month
Master $150 per month
Certifying Agency: Texas Commission on Fire Protection
SECTION 2. The total amount of certification pay an individual may receive shall
not exceed One Hundred Fifty ($150.00) Dollars per month.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
