Resolution No. _48-2017_
Resolution authorizing award bid for purchase of one (1) 1-ton cab and
chassis with a welding service bed from the local bidder Wichita Falls
Ford-Lincoln, Inc., in the amount of $53,758.12
WHEREAS, the City advertised and requested bids for the purchase of one (1) 1-
ton cab and chassis with a welding service bed , and,
WHEREAS, the city has reviewed the bid from the low bidder for the 1 -ton cab and
chassis with a welding service bed, Grapevine Chrysler Jeep Dodge, in the amount of
$51,670.00; and the local bidder, Wichita Falls Ford Lincoln, Inc., in the amount of
$53,758.12, and find both acceptable, and
WHEREAS, Local Government Code Section §271.9051 …..allows a municipality
to award a bid that is within five percent of the lowest bid price received to the bidder
whose principal place of business is in the municipality if the governing body of the
municipality determines, in writing, that the loc al bidder offers the municipality the best
combination of contract price and additional economic development opportunities for the
municipality created by the contract award, including the employment of residents of the
municipality and increased tax reve nues to the municipality…...
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
City staff are authorized to execute all documents necessary to purchase:
One (1) 1-ton cab and chassis with a welding service bed from the low
bidder, Grapevine Chrysler Jeep Dodge, in the amount of $51,670.00.
or
One (1) 1-ton cab and chassis with a welding service bed from the l ocal
bidder, Wichita Falls Ford-Lincoln, Inc., in the amount of $53,758.12.
