ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 50-34 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES, IDENTIFYING THE CLASSIFICATIONS AND NUMBER
OF POSITIONS IN EACH CLASSIFICATION FOR THE WICHITA FALLS
FIRE DEPARTMENT; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO
THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, Section 143.021 Of th@ TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE C'@qUICeS a
municipality's governing body to establish Fire Department classifications by ordinance
and the governing body by ordinance shall prescribe the number of positions in each
classification.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . Section 50-34 of the Wichita Falls Code of Ordinances is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 50-34" Civil service positions designated.
(a) The following positions in the Fire Department are reclassified under civil
service in compliance with V.T.C.A., LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE §143.021:

(b) The following positions in the Fire Department are classified under civil
service in compliance with V.T.C.A., LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE §143.021:

(c) The following position within the Fire Department is abolished in
accordance with V.T.C.A., LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE §143.OH5:

(d) No other person employed by the city may be classified as holding a
position under civil service with the fire department."
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
