ORDINANCE NO. ��J"���
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 22 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY
ADDING ARTICLE XII, EXISTING BUILDING CODE; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS
PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals recommends the
adoption of the 2006 International Existing Building Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council concurs with such adoption.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Chapter 22 , Buildings and Building Regulations, is amended by
adding Article XII, Existing Building Code, as follows:
"Sec. 22-710 Adopted.
Chapters 2-15 of the Existing Building Code 2006 edition, as published by the
International Code Council, is adopted by reference as though it were copied fully in this
section."
SECTION 2 Chapter 1 of the International Building Code 2006 Edition, as
adopted and amended by Sections 22-26 and 22-27 of the Code of Ordinances, shall
continue in full force and effect and shall govern the administration of Article XII of
Chapter 22.
SECTION 3. Any other Code referenced within the 2006 International Existing
Building Code hereby adopted, which has not been adopted by the City of Wichita Falls,
shall not be considered as a local ordinance.
SECTION 4. It is the intention of the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas, that the provisions of this ordinance shall become a part of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and that sections of this ordinance may
be renumbered or relettered to accomplish such intention.
SECTION 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith is hereby
repealed.
SECTION 6. Should any word, phrase, paragraph, section or portion of this
ordinance or the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, be held to be void or
unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of said

force and effect.
SECTION 7. It is officially found and determined that the meeting at which this
ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
