RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURSUE
EFFORTS TO SELL LAND OWNED BY THE CITY AT THE LAKE
RINGGOLD SITE, FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING
AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE
PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City is the owner of land in excess of 5,000 acres purchased in
1985 to build a reservoir known as the Lake Ringgold site; and,
WHEREAS, the property may no longer be needed to serve the long-term
interests of the City of Wichita Falls; and,
WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City to determine the current market value of
the property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby directed to pursue the sale of the
Lake Ringgold property owned by the City by hiring a qualified appraiser to determine
the value of the property, and a real estate broker or other experts he deems necessary
to assist in the sale of the property.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
