RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE NECESSITY FOR THE
ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY LOCATED ON SEYMOUR HIGHWAY
SLIGHTLY EAST OF THE TANGLEWOOD SUBDIVISION AS INDCATED
ON THE ATTACHED LOCATION MAP FOR THE PURPOSE OF
ACQUIRING AN 80 ACRE TRACT TO BE USED FOR OPEN SPACE;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls finds it is in the public's best interest to
acquire a unique parcel of land being offered for sale for the purpose of open space and
future trail development; and
WHEREAS, a fair and agreed upon price has been determined befinreen a willing
seller and a willing buyer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. It is necessary that the City of Wichita Falls acquire a unique 80
acre tract being located in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas for future access to an
open space recreation area and to accommodate the connection of the Circle Trail; and
SECTION 2. The amount of just compensation to be offered to the property
owners will be $525,000.00 as agreed upon by both buyer and seller; and
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
