RESOLUTION NO. _98-2011_
Resolution Endorsing An Application To The Wichita Falls 4B Sales
Tax Corporation For A $116,000 Expenditure For Replacement Of A
Trolley Bus
WHEREAS, the City currently owns two trolley buses that are used for various
charter transportation services such as conventions, community-wide events, and
private outings; and
WHEREAS, these trolleys are 26 years old and are beginning to have numerous
operating and maintenance problems; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to continue providing charter transportation
services and maintain the added marketing appeal offered by a trolley bus; and
WHEREAS, this purchase was not anticipated in the 2011-12 budget; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this purchase is eligible for funding from
the Wichita Falls 4B Sales Tax Corporation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Council hereby endorses an application to the Wichita Falls 4B Sales
$116,000
Tax Corporation for a funding request in the amount of to provide for 50% of
the $232,000 cost to replace a trolley bus to be used by the City for various charter
transportation services.
