RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AWARD OF BID TO VARIOUS
VENDORS FOR THE CITY'S ANNUAL SUPPLY OF CHEMICALS FOR
WATER AND WASTEWATER TREATMENT; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falis advertised and requested bids for the
purchase of the annual supply of chemicals for water and wastewater treatment; and
WHEREAS, bids were received and publicly opened on August 4, 2008 and
August 22, 2008; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to purchase chemicals for the City's water
and wastewater treatment operation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Authorization is granted to award bids for the purchase of bulk
water and wastewater treatment to the low bidder for each chemical as follows:
• Ferrous Chloride to OFS, Inc. in the amount of $27,450.00.
• Sulfur Dioxide to DPC Industries, Inc. in the amount of $50,680.00.
• Hydrofluorisilic Acid to Harcros Chemicals in the amount of $66,723.63.
• Liquid Ferric Sulfate to General Chemical Performance in the amount of
$630,891.81.
• Potassium Permanganate to JLM Marketing in the amount $14,467.14.
• Sodium Chlorite to Siemens Water Technologies in the amount of
$122, 348. 00.
• Anhydrous Ammonia to Airqas Specialty Products in the amount of
$52,000.00.
• Calcium Oxide to Texas Lime Company in the amount of $413,000.00.
• Citric Acid to Brenntag Southwest in the amount of $16,200.00.
• Copper Sulfate to Chemmrite, Inc. in the amount of $54,320.00.
• Liquid Carbon Dioxide to Air Liquide in the amount of $137,592.00.
• Liquid Chlorine (bulk) to Brenntag Southwest in the amount of $68,670.00.
• Liquid Chlorine (1-ton cylinders) to DPC Industries in the amount of
$139, 342.00.
• Liquid Citric Acid to Southwest Chemical in the amount of $6,927.30.
• Liquid Sodium Bisulfite to Brenntag Southwest in the amount of $5,454.90.
• Liquid Sodium Hydroxide to Southwest Chemical in the amount of
$4,972.95.
• Liquid Sodium Hypochlorite to DPC Industries in the amount of
$18,520.75.
• Liquid Sulfuric Acid to Harcros Chemicals in the amount of $80,939.25.
• Powdered Activated Carbon to Prominent Systems, Inc. in the amount of
$9,864.00.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting
at which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
