RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR
GRANT FUNDS FROM THE EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE
ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $29,050.00
WITH CO-APPLICANT, WICHITA COUNTY, TEXAS; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City has been notified that it is eligible for $29,050.00 from the
Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the City Manager to submit a
grant application to obtain these funds; and
WHEREAS, 10% of said award in the amount of $2,905.00 will be used for grant
administration expenses for the Wichita Falls Police Department and the Finance
Department; and
WHEREAS, one-half of said remaining award ($13,072.50) will be shared with
Wichita County, Texas, co-applicant for such grant; and
WHEREAS, the use of these funds will be used to assist with the purchase of the
Storage and Wireless Upload Infrastructure, for a Digital Mobile Video System.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply as a co-applicant
to the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program for funds in the
amount of $29,050.00.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which
this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
