A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AMENDING THE PROPOSED USE
OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS
IN A PREVIOUSLY APPROVED CONSOLIDATED PLAN FOR THE
PERIOD OF OCTOBER 1, 2007 TO SEPTEMBER 30, 2008, FINDING
AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls administers the Community Development
Block Grant Program through the Neighborhood Resources Division of the Community
Development Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council Subcommittee on Outside Agencies has reviewed
these amendments and has recommended to the full City Council this list of additional
projects; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has conducted a Public Hearing to receive citizen
input, and the City Manager and staff have used this input in consideration of the
proposed activities; and
WHEREAS, the full City Council has reviewed the recommended projects and
approves the projects and activities in the amendment to the FY 2008 Action Plan to
the Consolidated Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council of Wichita Falls, Texas hereby approves and
adopts the Amendment to the FY 2008 One Year Action plan of the Consolidated Plan
for the period of October 1, 2007 to September 30, 2008.
SECTION 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager to submit this
Amendment to the Action Plan that includes the following reallocation of CDBG funds
including: $51,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Wichita Falls from infrastructure
development to acquisition of real property, demolition, and clearance and $60,000
from Disaster Relief to Code Enforcement Division for demolition and clearance
activities in CDBG-eligible areas.
SECTION 3. The City Council authorizes the City Manager to execute and
amend any and all Grant Agreements and contracts to implement the approved plan
with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
SECTION 4. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
