RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN AN ANNUAL AGREEMENT WITH
EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK FOR A CODERED NOTIFICATION
SYSTEM AS WELL AS THE CODERED WEATHER WARNING SYSTEM FOR THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, public safety officials are obligated to provide notification of
emergency events to the citizens and visitors of Wichita Falls; and
WHEREAS, the CodeRed emergency notification system has been identified as
the most viable solution to make notification of emergency events to homes and
businesses; and
WHEREAS, the public safety officials for the City of Wichita Falls believe the
CodeRed system could be a life saving investment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to sign an agreement with
Emergency Communications Network for a CodeRed Notification System as well as a
CodeRed Weather Warning System for the City of Wichita Falls with the total first year
cost to the City of Wichita Falls being $39,700.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
