Res 045-2008 4/1/2008 RESOLUTION NO. 45-2008
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, ENDORSING AN APPLICATION TO THE 4A SALES TAX BOARD FOR
THE PURCHASE OF LOW-FLOOR TRANSIT BUSES; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS
PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls City Council authorized the creation of the Wichita Falls
Transit System; and
WHEREAS, the City Council received a presentation on the 2008 Wichita Falls Transit
System plan, which included a recommendation to purchase low-floor replacement buses; and
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Transit System requires a local match of $268,000 to
purchase these replacement buses; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to endorse this project to the 4A Board of Directors
for funding this local match.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. An application to the 4A Sales Tax Board for funding the local match
portion of four low-floor buses is hereby endorsed.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this
resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
