RESOLUTION OF THE WICHITA FALLS CITY COUNCIL TO ADOPT THE
PROPOSED PASSENGER FARE STRUCTURE FOR THE WICHITA FALLS
TRANSIT SYSTEM; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls City Council authorized the creation of the Wichita Falls
Transit System; and
WHEREAS, the Council is responsible for setting the fees, charges and fare structures
for services rendered by the city; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Council to provide safe, efficient and economical
transportation to the citizens of Wichita Falls; and
WHEREAS, an e�ensive planning and public review process was conducted to examine
all operating requirements of the Wichita Falls Transit System; and
WHEREAS, the Council desires staff to periodically review the fare structure of the
transit system to ensure that adequate revenue is being generated to support the operational
costs of public transportation within the Community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The Wichita Falls City Council hereby adopts the proposed fare structure
for the Wichita Falls Transit System with an effective implementation date of July 7, 2008.
SECTION 2. The Wichita Falls City Council establishes that the fare for route
deviations will increase to $2.00 on October 1, 2009.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this
resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
