Res 048-2008 4/1/2008 RESOLUTION NO. 48-2008
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, CHANGING THE NAME OF WEEKS PARK GOLF COURSE TO THE
CHAMPIONS COURSE AT WEEKS PARK; FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, The City of Wichita Falls is nearing completion on a$3.6 million renovation
to its municipal golf course at Weeks Park; and
WHEREAS, All of the parties involved believe a new name will enhance the marketing of
the course within Wichita Falls and in the region; and
WHEREAS, The name being proposed is "The Champions Course At Weeks Park".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City of Wichita Falls municipal golf course name is hereby changed
from "Weeks Park Golf Course" to "The Champions Course at Weeks Park".
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this
resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
