Resolution granting permission to the Major Francis Grice Chapter,
NSDAR to place a Vietnam War Memorial sculpture on an area
planned for a Veterans Plaza at Lake Wichita
WHEREAS, the Major Francis Grice Chapter, NSDAR has requested permission
to place a Vietnam War Memorial sculpture on an area planned for a Veteran s Plaza on
Lake Wichita property, and,
WHEREAS, it is desirable to provide an appropriate place for the sculpture at
Lake Wichita.
WHEREAS, THE City is not committing to funding or maintaining the Plaza
and/or sculpture and the exact location will be subject to future Lake Wichita
Revitalization Committee plans and approval of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The Major Francis Grice Chapter, NSDAR is hereby given permission to place a
Vietnam War Memorial sculpture on a mutually agreed area planned for a Veterans
Plaza on Lake Wichita property, and the City is not committing to funding or maintaining
the Plaza and/or sculpture and the exact location will be subject to future Lake Wichita
Revitalization Committee plans and approval of the City.
