RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION WITH
THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR A FY2009
COMPREHENSIVE SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM
GRANT; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY
LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is eligible for a Texas Department of Transportaion
(TXDOT) Comprehensive Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) grant in the amount
of $99,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the City will use in-kind contributions to meet the required 10% local match
of $11,000.00.; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the grant is to focus on four of the Traffic Safety STEP
elements of Driving While Intoxicated, Occupant Protection, Speed, and Intersection Traffic
Control.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to make application for the
FY2009 Texas Department of Transportation Comprehensive Selective Traffic Enforcement
Program grant
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this
resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
