Resolution accepting and/or rejecting sealed bids for 46 excess City
Trustee parcels and authorizing execution of deeds to convey title
WHEREAS, from time to time, the City of Wichita Falls, along with the Wichita
Falls Independent School District and Wichita County, recovers judgments in suits filed
in the District Courts of Wichita County, Texas, for delinquent taxes, penalties, and
interest and the foreclosure of the tax lien on properties located in the City of Wichita
Falls, Wichita County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to reduce the inventory of real property
acquired from delinquent tax suits; and,
WHEREAS, on December 9, 2016, 46 sealed bid proposals were received for
157 parcels; and,
WHEREAS, the County Commissioners will meet on Friday, January 13, 2017 to
accept and/or reject the sealed bids as presented; and,
WHEREAS, the WFISD voted on January 10, 2017 to accept and/or reject the
sealed bids as presented; and,
WHEREAS, pending approval of all three entities, it is determined to be in the
best interest of the public to return these properties with accepted bids to private
ownership and put them back on the tax roll.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute all necessary documents to
facilitate the sale to the winning bidders as recommended by staff and indicated on the
attached Bid Form, and to reject the bids as recommended by staff and indicated on
the attached Bid Form.
