Resolution authorizing award of bid for the purchase of five ¾-ton
regular cab pickups from the local bidder, Wichita Falls Ford -
Lincoln, Inc., in the amount of $111,218.60; and award of bid for the
purchase of one ¾-ton, 4-wheel drive, 4-door crew cab pickup from
the low bidder, Wichita Falls Ford Lincoln, Inc., in the amount of
$28,529.72
WHEREAS, the City advertised and requested bids for the purchase of five ¾-ton
pickups and one ¾-ton, 4-wheel drive crew cab pickup; and,
WHEREAS, the city has reviewed the bid from the low bidder for the regular cab
pickups, Grapevine DCJ, LLC, in the amount of $110,005.00; and the local bidder
Wichita Falls Ford Lincoln, Inc., in the amou nt of $111,218.60, and find both acceptable,
and
WHEREAS, Local Government Code Section §271.9051 …..allows a
municipality to award a bid that is within five percent of the lowest bid price received to
the bidder whose principal place of business is in the municipality if the governing body
of the municipality determines, in writing, that the local bidder offers the municipality the
best combination of contract price and additional economic development o pportunities
for the municipality created by the contract award, including the employment of
residents of the municipality and increased tax revenues to the municipality…...
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
City staff are authorized to execute all documents necessary to purchase:
One ¾-ton crew cab 4-wheel drive pickup from the low bidder
Wichita Falls Ford-Lincoln, Inc. in the amount of $28,529.72.
and
Five ¾-ton regular cab pickups from the local bidder, Wichita Falls Ford-
Lincoln, Inc., in the amount of $111,218.60 because the Council finds that
this Company offers Wichita Falls the best combination of contract price
and additional economic development opp ortunities for the City created by
the contract award, including the employment of residents of Wichita Falls
and increased tax revenues to the municipality.
