RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, TO AMEND JOINT FUNDING AGREEMENT FOR
WATER RESOURCE INVESTIGATIONS, NUMBER 09C4TX039000000,
WITH THE U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY; FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED
WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the U.S. Geological Survey operates and maintains a series of
stream flow and reservoir-content gauging stations within the Little Wichita River Water
Shed; and
WHEREAS, the City Staff has met with the U.S. Geological Survey and have
agreed finro additional gauging stations are needed for the monitoring of water flows
during rain events; and
WHEREAS, the City Staff, U.S. Geological Survey, and the Red River Authority
have agreed to renew the funding for the gauging station at Charlie, TX for water quality
monitoring of the water pH and conductivity continued with Red River Authority
contributing to the cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The said Joint-Funding Agreement with the U.S. Geological Survey
to increase this year's payment by $56,500 to a total of $96,994 for the annual
maintenance and operations of four existing gauge stations, addition of two new
stations and water quatity monitoring at the Charlie, Texas is hereby approved. The
City Manager is authorized to execute the agreement for the City.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
