Ordinance No. _02-2017___
Ordinance amending Section 58-73 of the Code of Ordinances to
change the meeting schedule of the Public Board of Health
WHEREAS, the Public Board of Health currently meets on the fourth Friday of
every other month beginning in February of each year; and,
W HEREAS, the Board has quorum issues during certain months due to other
events and holidays; and,
WHEREAS, moving the meetings to the second Friday of every other month and
starting the bimonthly meetings in January will help to avoid those issues and therefore
assist with reaching quorum at Board meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 58-73 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows:
“Sec. 58-73. - Officers; rules of procedure; quorum; meetings.
(a) The Public Board of Health shall elect a chair, a vice -chair and a secretary
and shall adopt rules for the conduct of its meetings.
(b) Four voting representatives shall constitute a quorum for the transaction
of business.
(c) The board shall meet bimonthly on the second Friday of the first month, or
at such special meeting as may be called by the chair, the director/health
authority, or the city manager.”
