Ordinance amending Section 14-406 of the Code of Ordinances to
amend the term of office of a member of the Animal Shelter Advisory
Committee
WHEREAS, the Health District recommends revision of the existing Animal
Control Ordinance to better address the terms of office for a certain member of the
Animal Shelter Advisory Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Chapter 14 of the Wichita Falls Code of Ordinances is hereby amended at
Section 14-406 to hereby read as follows:
“Sec. 14-406. Term of office; meetings.
The Local Rabies Control Authority of Wichita Falls and the member whose
duties include the daily operation of an animal shelter shall serve an indefinite term. The
veterinarian appointed to the committee shall serve a term of two years; the animal
welfare organization representative shall serve a term of two years; and the citizen
representing the general public shall serve a term of two years. All terms expire on
December 31. The committee shall meet at least three times each year.”
