Ordinance No. _56-2016__
Ordinance deleting Article III of Chapter 102 of the Code of
Ordinances, entitled Traffic Safety Commission, in its entirety;
reserving Article III; reserving Sections 102-66 – 102-100
WHEREAS, the City created the Traffic Safety Commission to develop ordinances
for controlling traffic safety and to promote safety education; and,
WHEREAS, fewer citizens volunteer to serve on the various boards and
commissions of the City of Wichita Falls, thus making them harder to fill each year; and,
WHEREAS, the City staff liaison to the Traffic Safety Commission recommends
that such Commission be dissolved; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the mission of the Traffic Safety
Commission can be fulfilled through the City and C ouncil’s general operations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Article III of Chapter 102 of the Code of Ordinances, entitled Traffic Safety
Commission, is hereby deleted in its entirety.
Article III is hereby reserved.
Sections 102-66 – 102-100 are hereby reserved.
