Ordinance No. _55-2016__
Ordinance amending Chapter 2 of the Code of Ordinances at Article III
by deleting Division 10, entitled Multi-Purpose Events Center Advisory
Board, in its entirety; reserving Division 10; reserving Sections 2-380 –
2-389
WHEREAS, the City created a Multi-Purpose Events Center (MPEC) Advisory
Board by adopting Ordinance 71-2006, to advise and assist the City in the planning,
promotion and development of the Multi-Purpose Events Center and its efforts to stage
exhibits, sporting events, conventions and similar events for the enjoyment, educatio n
and cultural benefits of the City; and,
WHEREAS, in 2016, the City entered into an agreement with Global Spectrum,
L.P., dba Spectra Venue Management to provide the same services, resulting in a
duplication of services; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the Multi-Purpose Events Center
Advisory Board should be dissolved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Division 10 of Article III of Chapter 2 of the Code of Ordinances, entitled Multi-
Purpose Events Center Advisory Board, is hereby deleted in its entirety.
Division 10 is hereby reserved.
Sections 2-380 – 2-389 are hereby reserved.
