ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE SPECIAL
REVENUE FUND FOR ADDITIONAL HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES
FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS (HOPWA) GRANT FUNDING IN THE
AMOUNT OF $61,000 RECEIVED FROM TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS,
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACT
ACCEPTING SAME; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District has received
notice of the availability of HOPWA grant revenue from Tarrant County; Texas, and,
WHEREAS, the Public Health District desires to receive these funds to continue
providing housing and utility assistance to eligible clients; and,
WHEREAS, the award of these funds could not have been anticipated prior to
the adoption of the FY 2008-2009 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated into the Special Revenue Fund
$61,000 for the HOPWA grant, and the City Manager is authorized to enter into a
contact with Tarrant County, Texas, for the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health
District accepting same.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
