Ordinance No. _45-2016__
Ordinance making an appropriation to the Special Revenue Fund for
the Healthiest Cities and Counties Challenge in the amount of
$10,000.00 received from the American Public Health Association
and authorizing the City Manager to accept the funding and work on
the challenge initiatives
WHEREAS, Wichita County has been chosen to participate in the Healthiest
Cities and Counties Challenge; and,
WHEREAS, there is a desire to compete in the challenge and work on the
following initiatives: 5-2-1-0=8 worksite wellness, comprehensive school health program
and the reduction of second-hand exposure to children in vehicles; and,
WHEREAS, approval of these funds could not have been anticipated prior to the
adoption of the 2016 - 2017 budget; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
There is hereby appropriated in the Special Revenue Fund $10,000 for the
Healthiest Cities and Counties Challenge, and the City Manager is authorized to accept
these funds from the American Public Health Association for the Wichita Falls-Wichita
County Health District.
