ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF
$16,000 FROM THE TEXAS HISTORICAL COMMISSION AND A MATCH
OF $3,750 FROM THE GENERAL FUND AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE A GRANT CONTRACT WITH THE TEXAS
HISTORICAL COMMISSION; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO
THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls, through grant contract TX-09-023 with the
Texas Historical Commission, will research, develop and publish as a collaborative
project with the Landmark Commission a historic sites touring booklet with an
accompanying audio guide; and
WHEREAS, this grant project will assist with increasing community awareness
regarding the importance and value of historic resources while also being an
educational tool for area schools and community agencies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . Grant funds in the amount of $16,000 from the Texas Historical
Commission are hereby appropriated to assist in the research, development, design
and publication of a historic sites touring booklet with accompanying audio CD and
downloadable pod cast.
SECTION 2. An amount not to exceed $3,750 is hereby appropriated from the
General Fund to cover the cash match requirement; additional match will be covered by
in-kind services.
SECTION 3. The City Manager is authorized to execute contract documents with
the Texas Historical Commission for this project grant.
SECTION 4. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
