Ordinance Making An Appropriation In The Sanitation Fund In The
Amount Of $670,512 To Budget For The Purchase Of Four Additional
Refuse Collection Vehicles.
WHEREAS, the 2008-2009 Sanitation Budget included $878,000 for the
purchase of four refuse collection units in the current fiscal year, and four additional
units were planned to be requested in the 2000-2010 fiscal year budget; and
WHEREAS, changes in EPA emission standards next year will cause a
significant increase in the price of future units; and
WHEREAS, total expenditures can be reduced by purchasing four additional
units in the current fiscal year and eliminating the purchase of these four units in the
2009-2010 fiscal year; however, this advance purchase necessitates the transfer of
additional funds to the Sanitation Budget in the 2008-2009 fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
There is hereby appropriated in the 2008-09 Sanitation Fund Budget an
additional $670,512 to provide sufficient funding for the purchase of four additional
refuse collection vehicles.
